Health & Safety Rules to be observed by all hirers

1. Make sure that all exit corridors and doors are clear during the use of the hall and remain so throughout the hiring.

2. Do not operate or touch any electrical equipment where there are signs of damage, exposure of components, or water penetration.

3. Do not leave portable electrical appliances operating while unattended.

4. If hiring a Bouncy Castle for a children’s party make sure that it meets the industry and regulatory requirements and that all safety instructions are followed. It must be supervised by a competent adult at all times and maximum numbers must not be exceeded.  are followed. 5. Do not at any time enter or attempt to enter the loft without permission from a Trustee.

6. Do not bring onto the premises any portable electrical appliances which have not been PAT tested.

7. Do not attempt to carry or tip any container containing boiling or very hot water.

8. Wear suitable protective clothing, e.g. gloves, when handling cleaning fluids or toxic materials.

9. Report any faults or damage to equipment or the building to the Facilities & Maintenance Trustee.

10. Be aware of and seek to avoid creating slipping hazards (mop up spills immediately),  tripping hazards (buggies, umbrellas, walking sticks, etc.), kitchen hazards (knife cuts, scalding, etc.), and toppling hazards (piling items up in cupboards, etc.).

11. Always use the lighting to avoid tripping in darker areas.
